# Build with the HTTP API

> Exact request and response contracts, connected to the product guidance.

This reference covers the core HTTP workflows for Files, search, extraction,
review, Graph, Shapes and sharing. You can
[download the OpenAPI document](https://docs.pnbr.io/openapi.json) used by this documentation.
Each page names the action and shows its exact HTTP method, route and operation ID.

## Choose the job first

Use the guides to understand the sequence and consequences, then open the
endpoint reference for the exact fields.

> Plan the cost, follow the run, and decide what reaches the Graph.

## Access and outcomes

Send your credential in the `Authorization: Bearer …` header. Its authority
determines which projects and actions it can reach. Read
[credentials](https://docs.pnbr.io/concepts/credential.md) and [approvals](https://docs.pnbr.io/concepts/approval.md) before
building a write flow.

A successful HTTP response can represent an approval hold or asynchronous work.
Read the response body before reporting completion. Where an operation declares
an `Idempotency-Key`, preserve it with the original request for recovery. See
[recover after a lost reply](https://docs.pnbr.io/guides/recover-after-a-lost-reply.md).

> [!NOTE]
>
> The current specification describes the success family with `2XX`. Error responses are not yet
> enumerated in this specification. The linked concept and troubleshooting pages describe relevant
> refusals and recovery.

## Reference coverage

The pages and downloadable spec describe the same selected project routes.
Use the [agent setup guide](https://docs.pnbr.io/agents.md) for the CLI and MCP, and the product guides
for workflows beyond this HTTP reference.
