Why it happens
Penumbra cuts the picture of a captured page into strips from the top. A page keeps at most 20 strips. A page taller than that keeps the top 20 and warns. The text of the page is not cut. Search finds the text of the whole page, andpenumbra files text <file> reads it.
What Penumbra does
By itself:- Cuts the picture of a page into strips from the top and keeps at most 20.
- Warns
page_pictures_truncatedwith the number of strips and the height of the page when a page is longer. - Keeps the text of the whole page, and search finds all of it.
- Offers the kept pictures to search by page picture and to the viewer.
- Tell the person which pages lost their lower pictures.
- No option raises the 20 pictures of a page.
Do
- Read the warning. Note the page and its height.
- Tell the person that the pictures stop partway down and that the text is whole.
- If the person needs the lower part of the page, read it as text:
penumbra files text <file>. - If the page matters as a picture, the person can save the lower part as an
image. Then upload it with
penumbra files upload.
Don’t
- Don’t save the page again to get more pictures. The project already holds it, and a second save reports it without capturing it (problem page-already-in-project).
- Don’t tell the person that the page is missing. Its text is whole.
